Egypt is one of the leading countries supporting the United Nations’ peacekeeping efforts, being a pioneer in its contribution of troops and police forces. In addition, Egypt serves as the chair of the Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations (C34) and is a member of the Peacebuilding Commission. Egypt has played a prominent role in all discussions related to peacekeeping and peacebuilding at the African level, providing military, police, and civilian personnel in numerous African missions. It has also become a leading voice in the Global South on many issues through the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding.
